The Sunday before Halloween, our church held it's annual fall festival. We were so glad to get to attend this year without the hassle of an eleven hour drive prior to the event! The kids were so excited to don their Halloween costumes and kick off the holiday. We had planned upon dressing Maura prior to leaving and dressing Tristan when we got there. It didn't exactly work out that way, though. Once Tristan spied Maura putting on her costume, he wouldn't rest until Brent put his on as well. Both kids looked adorable, but we had to put a jacket on Maura--we were experiencing fall
temperatures for one of the first times this fall. It was OK, she looked just as cute wearing it!

Maura doing the cupcake walk. I don't know if we ever explained the point of the game, so she was a LITTLE confused as to what she was doing, but was thrilled to
receive her cupcake in the slightly rigged game! This is a new experience for us. This is the first year Maura would submit to a face painting booth. She selected a kitty cat paw...better known to the rest of us as a wildcat paw print.
Defiantly the highlight of the festival for Tristan was the petting zoo. I think he used up at least half the bucket of corn feeding the goats! I think he would have crawled inside the fence with them if I'd let him. He kept neighing at the
miniature pony! My best attempt at a costume photo!

Tristan opted out of the
photos and
absconded with the
decorative pumpkins! Maura took her turn feeding animals. Can you see all the corn on the ground? These were some well fed birds and Maura was not happy that they weren't interested in what she was feeding.

Daddy and his sweet butterfly girl! Mommy and the cutest puppy ever!

The costume parade was so hilarious and so cute!
Definitely Maura's favorite event of the evening was the trunk or treat! She couldn't wait to go on to the next car to get more candy!

Tristan got in on the candy haul too!

Tristan loved checking in with his buddy, Hunter. Tristan has a tremendous affinity for this gentle giant of a man. Mr. Hunter was always able to calm down my little man when he cried during Cradle Roll.
We had an awesome fall festival and are so thankful to the children's ministry teams who make these event so special for our kids. What an awesome church and a fun event. It was the perfect way to kick off the Halloween season!
