My family just can't resist an opportunity to celebrate. Despite all the craziness of the weekend of Mother's day, we decided to take a picnic up to a local wildlife sanctuary to celebrate Mom. I had tons of leftovers from Tristan's party the day before, so we just packed up and spent some fun family time together. I'm so blessed to be a mommy of three sweet babies this year. Each one is different and each one is a blessing to our family.
It was a gorgeous day to be out enjoying the spring weather. We had a picnic, then went on a hike to discover all the animal tracks in the area. Maura was enthralled. She spied deer, rabbit and dog tracks(which she though were perhaps wolf tracks!)
When it came time to open gifts, Lorie surprised us all by announcing that this will be her last Mother's Day as a mommy of just one child. We'll be welcoming a new baby into the family in December. I can't wait!! Alexandra will be a very exuberant big sister!Below: The children amused themselves with pushing each other around in a stroller. They strolled up and down the fairly steep hill until the inevitable happened...wreck. Fortunately, they all thought it was hilarious!
